GCSE Results Day will be on Thursday 12 August 2021. If your child is unable to attend in person please provide a stamped, self-addressed envelope for their results to be posted to them. These can be given to the Academy Main Reception. Alternatively, written consent must be given by the student if someone else will be picking up results on their behalf. Further details of timings for the day will be sent out before the summer break when we are familiar with the updated COVID protocols for social distancing.
I would like to reassure you that the selection of evidence used to support your child’s final grade in each subject has been considered very carefully. Teachers have taken a balanced, holistic approach in the determining of grades, using a wide range of evidence. We are confident in our robust and comprehensive system, with teaching staff, Curriculum Leaders and Senior Leaders committing a substantial amount of time and effort into ensuring this process is strong and fair for every student. Our Centre Policy for Determining Teacher Assessed Grades in Summer 2021 has been approved by the exam boards and can be found on our Academy website.
As part of this process, we have considered any adverse circumstances / mitigating factors that we have on record for students and thank you for keeping us informed. However, if there are any very recent serious concerns, such as family bereavement or very serious illness (either affecting themselves or a close member of the family), please could you let the Academy know, in writing, by Thursday 17 June 2021.
The appeals procedure will be posted on our website for you to look at and read through in advance of results day for use in exceptional circumstances.
We would like to thank all parents/carers for the enormous support you have given the Academy and your children during this very difficult year. We are incredibly proud of our Year 11 students and the commitment they have demonstrated.
