Thinking Of Others At Christmas

Cleethorpes Academy Principal, Janice Hornby, hands over a cheque for £651.46 to Dave Carlile, Project Manager for Harbour Place, raised by students and staff at the Academy.

Cleethorpes Academy students and staff raised more than £650 for Harbour Place homeless shelter through a non-uniform and a Christmas jumper day.

Dave Carlile, Project Manager for Harbour Place, said: “The money will be used towards our night shelter provision during the winter. At the minute there are a lot of people in emergency accommodation or people still on the streets. We work with about 40 to 50 rough sleepers per month. This is a challenging time and this money will go towards the feeding and the upkeep of our facilities.”

Janice Hornby, Cleethorpes Academy Principal, said the students had taken the cause to heart and raised a terrific amount of money to help the local homeless shelter.
