Clever Bakers Depict Literary Works

Cakes depicting literary scenes. The Yellow Brick Road by Teegan Donoghue.

Students in Year 7 baked cakes based on the books they are studying in English Language as part of a creative homework exercise. Students were asked to try and recreate one of the texts studied so far in an imaginative and unique way.

Teegan Donoghue, Ben Smith, Olivia Fleming and McKenzie Chapman all chose to bake cakes representing some of the texts in the Adventure scheme of work.

Teegan baked and decorated a cake to look like the Yellow Brick Road from The Wizard of Oz. Ben baked a super-sized cookie to represent the Golden Snitch from Harry Potter. Olivia baked and decorated 15 cupcakes to represent the winter that Lucy first sees when she discovers Narnia in The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. McKenzie baked and decorated a cake depicting the moment Alice falls down the rabbit hole in Alice in Wonderland.

Olivia Fleming's cupcakes represent the winter in The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe.

McKenzie Chapman's rabbit hole in Alice in Wonderland.
