Rugby Top Design Has Student Flying Flag For Academy At Six Nations

Cleethorpes Academy students Hayden Jackson (Year 8) and Morgan Adams (Year 10) show off the rugby tops they designed at Wetherby Rugby Club workshop, which incorporate the Cleethorpes Academy colours.

A Cleethorpes Academy student will proudly wear a rugby shirt designed by the students when he strides out onto the pitch at Twickenham this Saturday at the start of the Six Nations England v Wales match.

Year 10 student Morgan Adams will be representing four students from the Academy who took part in a rugby kit design workshop, held at Wetherby Rugby Club last September.

The event was part of the RFU All Schools programme and the students were selected due to their hard work and commitment towards PE and rugby, particularly extra-curricular activities.

At the workshop, students created a vibrant shirt, with the only rules being that they had to incorporate the Cleethorpes logo and colours.

Simon Blewitt, Curriculum Leader For P.E. at Cleethorpes Academy, said: "The final design is fantastic and students were very proud of their work when they saw the finished product. Morgan is really lucky to be representing the Academy and we are very proud of him."

Morgan said: "I am really looking forward to Saturday. It is a fantastic opportunity and we are very proud of the rugby shirt we created."
