Cleethorpes Academy is celebrating its GCSE results today with 64% of students achieving Grades 9-4 in Maths (a standard pass) and 60% achieving Grades 9-4 in English.
Under the new system, subjects have been marked from Grades 1-9, with a standard pass being a Grade 4 and a strong pass a Grade 5. Sixty one per cent of students at Cleethorpes Academy also achieved a standard pass in two Science subjects.
Other notable achievements at standard pass and above include: a 100% pass rate in Performing Arts; a 92% pass rate in Art; 86% in Textiles; and 76% in P.E.
Mrs Janice Hornby, Cleethorpes Academy Principal, said: "This year's results are testament to all the hard work of the students and staff. I am extremely pleased with our results, especially given the increased rigour of the examinations this year. I would like to congratulate all students and wish them every success for their future."

Daniel Chapman achieved 9 GCSE's, including a Grade 9 in Maths and a Grade 9 in Combined Science.
"I'm delighted. I'm going to college to do computer science. I came in on weekends and after school for revision. Staff were great. I couldn't have done it without them," he said.

Amelia Hooper achieved 9 GCSE's, including a Grade 9 in Maths, five 8's and an A* in Textiles.
"I'm going to Sixth Form College. I had to work most nights. I had lots of support from staff, especially for a couple of subjects I struggled with," she said.
