Cleethorpes Academy Grandparents Day. Michael Carr with grandson Findlay Laking.
Grandparents praised the environment at Cleethorpes Academy as they enjoyed an afternoon with the students, making Christmas decorations and having tea.
The annual event allows students to invite their grandparents into the Academy to see what life in a modern school is like. It is always appreciated by everyone and, of the many grandparents who visited this year, Michael Carr summed it up when he said: "It's great to come in and support my grandson Findlay."
Lorraine Austin made decorations with her grandson Sean Johnson in the Textiles Department. She said: "It's the first time I have been into the Academy. It is good to see Sean at school."
Sean said "It is nice to see my Nana."
Peter and Linda Thorndyke visited their grandson Haydn Jackson. Peter said: "We were keen to come in and see Haydn in his school environment."
Dawn Miller and granddaughter Chloe Spence worked together in Art. Dawn said: "We have been making traditional baubles. This is the first time I have been to the Academy. Loving it!"
Cleethorpes Academy Principal Janice Hornby said: "We are always grateful that so many grandparents take the time to come into the Academy and support their grandchildren. They play a big role in the students' lives and we are very happy to be able to share school life with them."
