Former Cleethorpes Student Heading For Paris With Excellent A Level Results

Tollbar MAT Sixth Form College A Level Results Day. Former Cleethorpes Academy student Ryan Brown has secured a place at University of London Institute in Paris to study International Politics.

Former Cleethorpes Academy student Ryan Brown (18) graduated from Tollbar MAT Sixth Form College today with outstanding A Level results. He will now take up a place at University of London Institute in Paris to study International Politics.

Ryan achieved an A grade in Politics, an A in Economics and a B in History. In an unprecedented year of uncertainty for all exam students due to the Covid-19 disruption, Ryan coped admirably with the pressure but admitted to anxiety before opening his results this morning.

He said: “I am relieved today, absolutely relieved. It has been six months of not knowing and now finally some security."

Ryan studied for his GCSE results at Cleethorpes Academy and he paid tribute to the school. “I started at Cleethorpes Academy  in Year 7 and have done seven years in Tollbar MAT. I am really glad I did because there was so much support at Cleethorpes and then moving to Sixth Form where it is more independent learning, I got just as much support here too.

“I was worried about my results because in Year 12 I wasn’t doing quite so well, but then in Year 13 it all started to click into place. Of course then all of a sudden we were shut down with covid.

“I am so happy now I have my results and I am going to Paris. I wanted to study politics in Paris because it will give me three years of a different culture and hopefully I can learn another language at the same time.

“I am going to miss everyone here at TMAT. There has been so much support and I would not have wanted to study anywhere else.”
