Fabulous Feast Encourages Students To Experiment With Food Choices

Cleethorpes Academy Barbecue. Tilly Newel and Mischa Campbell (both Year 7) try some of the sumptuous food on offer.

Encouraging children to experiment more with food was the theme behind a spectacular barbecue lunch held at Cleethorpes Academy. The vibrant feast of food was cooked by Aspens Development Chef, Tony Mansell, and the weather held for an outdoor lunch that had students lining up for seconds.

Mr Mansell explained: "It's all about the students having fun and experimenting with different kinds of food and trying some of the healthy salads we are introducing. They all seem to have gone down very well."

Principal Janice Hornby said: "The barbecue offers students a chance to try foods they might not normally go for, and it all looks and smells so wonderful that it really does have the desired effect."

Alexia Raworth (Year 8), Jasmine Sanford (Year 8) and Ella-Mai Cunliffe (Year 7) choose from the array of colourful barbecue food on offer for lunch.

Year 7 students, Ryan Navas, Isaac Swallow and Lacey-Mae Mussell, line up for lunch with Principal Janice Hornby.
