18 October 2018
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all parents and carers for their continued support during the first half term of the academic year.
The Academy held its annual Presentation Evening at the Grimsby Auditorium on 10 October 2018. The special guest was Eddie "The Eagle" Edwards who presented prizes to the students and shared his inspirational message. The evening showcased our successful and talented students and was a memorable and highly enjoyable occasion. Thank you to all those parents and students that attended.
Please find attached a copy of our events calendar. We look forward to welcoming you to these occasions.
All Parent's evening dates are attached on the events calendar. These are very important events and we hope that you can attend these evenings. We believe we can achieve the best outcomes for your child when we work together. Please note that there are two evenings for Year 11 students.
In order to maintain the high standards of discipline expected at Cleethorpes Academy, we would like to remind parents of certain aspects of our uniform policy. Please bear the following in mind when purchasing items of uniform. The policy will be strictly enforced. Thank you for your support on this matter.
Please could I remind all parents that Cleethorpes Academy operates a no mobile phones policy. Any child that has a mobile phone in their possession will have it confiscated. We would request that parents support our policy and remind their children to leave them at home.
As we go through the darker months we recommend that students wear a reflective vest or armband so that they can be seen when walking or cycling to and from the Academy. Cyclists should also wear cycle helmets and have reflectors and lights for their own safety. Also please ensure that the brakes on your child's cycle are in full working order.
We have had some complaints that a minority of students are cycling in a manner that endangers themselves or other road users. Please will parents and carers discuss and reinforce with their child the importance of cycling in an appropriate manner.
We are pleased to be hosting our annual Christmas concert on Wednesday 19 December 2018. All parents, carers and students are welcome to attend this Christmas celebration, where our talented performers will entertain you for the evening, a separate letter will be sent home next term when you will be able to request tickets.
